Lower Eyelid Entropion
Lower Eyelid Entropion is an eyelid condition in which the lower eyelid is turned inwards against the eye causing discomfort from contact between the eyelashes and the surface of the eye. It is very uncomfortable, as the eyelashes constantly rub against the cornea and irritate it. There are various causes but the most common cause is simply an ageing effect of the eyelid that occurs in some older people. Patients will have significant eye irritation, foreign body sensation and tearing. Surgical treatment is necessary to prevent corneal infection and ulcer formation.
